THE Lagos State University, LASU, has received a gesture of philanthropic support from Prince (Dr) Samuel Adedoyin, the Chief Executive Officer of Doyin Investment Limited, as he donated a state-of-the-art one-storey ICT Building to the University.
The handover ceremony took place on Monday, May 20, 2024, as the University's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, led a delegation of management and other officials to Adedoyin's office in Lagos Island to express their gratitude.

Explaining his motivation, Prince Adedoyin stated, "There was a time I was talking to God about what I wanted from him. At the time, all I wanted was just a Volkswagen and a bungalow. But God did many more for me and made me who I am today. I felt that I should appreciate God for all He has done by giving to the University on which land I made all my achievements."
In her remarks, Prof. Olatunji-Bello commended Prince Adedoyin for the generous donation, which she said will significantly enhance the University's ICT services.
"To have such a big structure donated to our university is something we are very grateful for. We thank you and pray that God will continue to bless you, sir," she said.

The VC further announced that Prince Adedoyin would be conferred with an honorary degree during LASU's 27th Convocation Ceremony, scheduled to take place between May 30 and June 6, 2024.
Prof. Toyin Enikuomehin, the Director of the Directorate of ICT, who was part of the delegation, expressed gratitude for the ICT Building donation. He noted that the facility will be optimally utilised as the University has embraced digital services and hybrid teaching.
