NOLLYWOOD actress, Nkechi Blessing, has sparked an internet debate with a recent video addressing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In the video, Blessing urged the president to engage with the youths ahead of a planned demonstration on Thursday, August 1, 2024. She encouraged Tinubu to share his efforts to reduce food prices, saying, "Mr President, I'm begging you, talk to the youths, let them know what you're doing to reduce the prices of food."
Blessing, who was once a staunch supporter of Tinubu but switched her allegiance to Peter Obi during the 2023 election, advised the President to meet the youths halfway. She cautioned against attempts to stop the protest, saying, "Don't try to stop them, meet them halfway."
Blessing emphasised the need for the president to share his plans to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians, adding, "If you don't want the demonstration to take place, share your ideas on how to reduce food prices and help the needy during this difficult time."
The video has generated intense debate online, with many praising Blessing's boldness and others criticising her for meddling in politics. Blessing's message comes as Nigerians prepare for a nationwide protest on Thursday, August 1, 2024, to demand action from the government on the rising cost of living and food prices.
